Jupiter in mediocre seeing 31Aug

Hi
the seeing improved for a while as Jupiter rose, but then began dropping off again just before 5am. One sequence was stackable (best results from Registax6 with multiple passes), but the seeing was still pretty ropey overall - jetstream was ~50kts and altitude was below 30degrees, so I guess that was the cause. Lots of processing was required and it is clearly not going to win any prizes, but it was really good to be able to image the big planet again. Thanks for looking. regards Ray.

Thanks Asi - looks like it won't be long before the jetstream breaks up a bit. anticipating some quality images from up that way. Regards Ray

Nice work Ray, a pretty reasonable morning really, considering the alt and the persistence of the jet.

Regards

Hi Leon. thanks very much for the comment

Thanks Trevor. Yes, conditions were reasonable - was a lot better than looking at clouds. all we need now is for the jet and the clouds to depart at the same time.

Ray, a pretty good result given the conditions. I wish I had got up early enough to have a look. Thanks for showing me what I missed out on!

Hi Ivan - thanks. seeing was fair early on, but went to pieces over here before it got above 30 degrees. you also missed out on some impressively cold air. regards ray
