.. to photograph a set of Pandanus Palms?

This group of Pandanis Palms at Cape Leveque was a focal point for us at sunset of day 3.

We were in an area normally off-limits to tourists because of Aboriginal sacred ground nearby, but we were fortunate enough to have Gavin, a local Aboriginal guide, with us so we could shoot in and around the dunes.

You can see Ken Duncan is right at the front as normal, while the rest of us found our places around him

Interesting that Ken chooses to take the prime spot. On the workshops I have been to, the tutors stand back and show the participants where to stand to get the best shots.

It wasn't all that bad, David. The group consisted of a lot of pre-amateur amateur photographers who needed Ken there with them.

A lot of times he did 'step out of the way', but there were certainly times he also wanted to 'get the shot'

People getting in each others way was a small problem sometimes throughout the trip, but mostly people were conscious of taking turns and being polite etc.

I often wonder what it'd be like going to somewhere like Yosemite or Mesa Arch in the US around peak photographer season. You'd certainly get guys pushing in and getting the prime spots.

I have a friend who just came back from an African safari trip, and the tour guide on that one was hogging all the prime photo opportunity locations too. She came back quite pissed off, so must've been for the whole trip.
