Hi all,
Nothing particularly special here but I did promise in my last post that I would show the one and only Perseid Meteor that I managed to capture two weeks ago. I'm actually not even sure if it was a true Perseid. The point of origin looks wrong. It might be a Delta Aquarid? But anyway.....it's still the brightest meteor I have managed to capture so far (but not the longest trail). After being out shooting earlier in the night
http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ad.php?t=95397 I setup my 60D on the balcony, pointed it north east(ish) and set it going taking continuous frames from about 11pm onwards while I went to bed. I got up just before dawn expecting it's single battery to have run out hours earlier but it was still happily clicking away. It was then that I noticed how close the Moon and Jupiter were so I did this shot

To cut a long story short here is the one frame....

and yeah ok it's more like Canis Major's Lightsaber
Just for fun I threw all the images into Startrails and it spit out this result.

Couldn't reduce this one to get under 200kb without massive jpeg compression so you will have to click the link sorry. The other streak you may notice towards the top of the frame is an iridium flare and there is a plane trail in the lower section
Cheers
