Pardalote and Wagtail - Closing a 500D circle and 7D first light

The Striated Pardalotes are back checking out the nesting boxes - took this one on the morning before acquiring my new Canon 7D. Interesting timing as it's nearly exactly 12 months since I got my 100-400L and these little guys were one of my first subjects.

And there was a little break in the wind and rain to give my new magnificent 7 first light with a co-operative Willie Wagtail.

Congratulations on first light on the 7 mate!
Both lovely shots. Love the colours in the first shot and the blur in the background of 2 is lovely.
I am hoping to give the the 5D and the 100-400 a bit of a workout this weekend.

Great photos of some cute little birds. The Willie Wagtail just seems ever so slightly sharper and has a little more pop, was the Pardalote a heavy crop?

Nice catcth-light in the WW eye and you’ve done well to balance the blacks and whites in the WW shot.

Cheers

Dennis
