Using a Nikon ED50 as a finderscope

Hi,

I have an ED50 spotting scope with 27x eyepiece gathering fungus and I was thinking of using it as a finderscope alongside my telrad, the ED50 has a standard camera thread on the bottom.

I see the meade piggyback bracket for my 10" but i'm guessing I might have alignment problems using it for a finderscope, I do have a panhead that I could use but it would probably get bumped?

Maybe using rings?

Anyone seen a solution, or should I just forget about it and get something like a SkyWatcher 9 x 50 RACI?

Thanks for looking.

Richard
