Eta Carina- Omega Centauras- Centauras A

these were taken after PEC training the LX 200.
All photos are at f/10 with 3 min exposures, note these photos are unguided, l have pushed the scope to it's maximum with unguided shots to get as close to perfectly polar aligned as possible and now believe the scope to be tracking to it's maximum ability without guiding.
Any comments most welcome.

great images mick. however, once again there are plenty of hidden details which you havent brought out. If you dont mind I have a fiddle with Cent A and ETA. these are done just with your jpg's. imagine your uncompressed pics.

Nice work Mick... And nice processing Ezy!
Now tell us what you did.... As per the law of processing other peoples images You must surrender all knowledge.

Great shots but they really dont test the guiding accuracy of your scope. You should try to image something well away from the south pole ie M104 as this would be a good target to get some idea of the tracking rate etc. The objects on the ecliptic are moving faster [relatively] for your scope and thus any inaccuracies are amplified. I am also interested in the processing procedures.

Great shooting Mick; now all you have to do is learn the processing. I'd say corner Eric, he cirtainly turned the lights on in those shots to reveal heaps.

I am going through a similar learning curve, its one thing to take the shots, then what program to use and how to process. I am sure the learned chaps in your area will help you.

All the best.

Thanks guys. The only software I used for processing is photoshop CS2. I adjust the level so that the histogram leans from top left to bottom right. Also adjust brightness/contrast then cut it off with the levels. I then try using auto curves which didn't work so I did it manually. I use the noise filter to remove evident noise from the pic and wolla!

Wow - very impressive Mick. F10 and 3 mins unguided, is quite extraordinary - well done.

Cheers
