Ring Nebula and Outer Halo

Hi folks
this data was acquired by my SRO partner Bill Snyder when we first set up the telescope last Aug.

Its a bi-colour image consisting of 10 hrs Ha and 8 hrs OIII, with the intent of showing the outer halo.

Very spectacular Martin and you've captured a nice little galaxy at the top as well.

There's a lot of stuff out there that you don't normally see. A fine image, Martin!

I like that - the narrow band is allowing you to see detail that
would otherwise be invisible.

Thanks folks.

Sorry, I should have listed the scope and camera - data was taken with the 17" Planewave and U16M.

Cheers

Martin...I normally genuflect when I see your deep sky images

...but to cut to the chase, the stars in this one have 1 o'clock to 7 o'clock elongation...other minor quibbles as well....(that said I suspect I have a non-PC profile...but I prefer peer review, to PC )

Nice image, but not one of your best

Nice image, but not one of your best

I think the issues in the image were likely due to the fact that this was when the telescope was first set up.

Lovely image Martin.

Thanks folks.

Peter - I certainly agree with you about the stars in this image....and to tell the truth, I didnt pay hardly as much attention as I normally would.

It was a good spot.

cheers
Martin
