Here's a 5 sec exposure frame taken from a video last night of a bright Delta Aquariids meteor from Brisbane, looking North. Canon EOS 600D, 24mm f/1.4, 800ISO, 0.2 frames/sec.
Nice one Tom do you have the camera running over a set period of time and is it tracking?I think its time to update the 450D to one with video function
I've downloaded and installed the latest version of Magic Lantern firmware on the 600D. It allows for video frame rates of down to 0.2 frames/sec with the corresponding 5 sec exposure time. Sensor noise is a big issue at these setting but as you can see the results can be worth it. I set up the camera and press record. With 2 batteries the video can go for about 3.5 hours and at this frame rate it's only about 1.7 Gb of space. Not tracked.
