ADM for G11/C11

hello members having trouble understanding about replacing my standard saddle sitting on my g11
in needs to fit the standard orange rail on my c11
going through the ADM site they told me it needs to be the DUAL SERIES M8?
however to me it simply looks like i should have the DSAD LOS
all i want is some more contact area for my OTA
thanks in advance
pat

Hi Pat

If you're referring to this page: http://www.admaccessories.com/D_Series_Dual_Saddles.htm then you'll probably need only the DUAL LOS8 - this will allow you to use any dovetails that are either Losmandy or Vixens - so you'll be able to get away using the Vixen dovetail bar that is under your OTA unless you have the wider type which means that it'll fit the wider part of the jaws (Losmandy style)

Think the DUAL M8 you mentioned is actually for the Tak using M8 socket head cap screws

HTH
Cheers
Bill

Does your C11 have a Vixen style bar or a Losmandy D bar? It sounds like a Vixen but it could be either. If it is a Vixen style you might do better to get a Losmandy bar for the OTA.

Unless I'm looking at the wrong ADM page I can't see a "DUAL LOS8". Maybe they changed the name to "DUAL-M8".

In any case the ADM or Robin Casady dovetails are easier to use than the Losmandy one.

looked at the casady one yesterday and that looks rather substantial.... its a fair bit more money though

Pat, Celestron have started selling some OTAs with Losmandy D compatible bars which is why I asked. Yes the Casady gear is pricey. I have a couple of bits of their gear and it is beautifully made.
