Vale Darryl Cotton

Today the Australian music industry has lost an amazing performer, a true gentleman and consummate professional.

Wow... how sad. I only just saw him perform, brilliantly, a few weeks ago, at the end of April - in "Go Show! Gold" at the State Theatre. That's two stars from the show that have now moved on. Darryl, and Ian Turpie. Golly...

He's forth from the left... he pounded it out with Zoot that night. He was fantastic.

I have a single of Zoot's somewhere from back in the 70's.
Sad news indeed.

I was lucky enough to play guitar for him in the late 90's. And yes, he really was a gentleman.
Sad news indeed.

I still have one. A cover of "Eleanor Rigby" done in hard rock! I loved it and still do.

62? Not good.

That's very sad .
I only just found out tonight after reading this thread.
One of my favourite songs that I play all the time is "Same Old Girl", and I think the next time I play it, it might just bring a tear to my eye.
He sure has been around for a long time, going back to the days of Zoot with my heartbreaker Rick Springfield.
