Swan Ha - colour added

Managed to captue 16x10min of Ha of the Swan Nebula with 10"SCT and qsi583 camera tonight.
Was easy to process in DSS and PS3 and will obtain the colour tomorrow (I hope). The image below is an uncropped version of the original.
Comments welcomed.
Colour added tonight with 17x10min subs taken with the QHY10 and registered with Registar and added to the Ha with PS3
Comments welcomed

As Peter said it's nice and smooth Allan. What temperature were you running at?

Nice work, Allan! Was that with OAG or guidescope?

Hopefully I'll add it tonight and thanks for the comments, Peter.

I usually run at -20C but it was cold last night so I went to -25C with the QSI and it was at about 75-80%.

I must admit that I was lazy and it's straight out of the camera with no darks, flats or bias, Geoff

Rick, this was done with my 72mm guidescope on top of the 10" and guided with PhD. The subs were 10 min but only because last night there seemed to be a lot of plane traffic through where I was imaging and only lost 4 frames due to aero-intrusions.

Very nice Allan, this neb really looks great in Ha especially at longer focal lengths, so many fine subtle details are in there when you zoom in. Looking forward to seeing the colour version too

Ross.
Thanks for that Ross. I managed to add 17x10min subs captured with the QHY10 and added to the Ha frame with Registar and PS3.
I was quite pleased with the final image and detail.

Louie
I could have processed the image so that it was the usual fluoro red with pink tinges but to be honest when you look at the RGB profiles, the other colours are well represented and I tried to make the image more subtle and less in your face. Since I've never seen any colour in a nebula so far I guess it's subjective unless I balance it against a known star colour.

Thanks Marc, Ive been following Mike Sidonio's thread with interest on the colour combos for M17 and looking at the possible reditions of this object mine seems more like Gabaney's rendition. I tried to make it more like illuminated dust rather than sidewalk fairy floss ,with touches of blue showing through. Each to their own but as Im diabetic I don't like fairy floss. Im glad someone likes this colour rendition.

Oh yeh, nothing wrong with your colour balance, as long as you like it that's all that matters...oh and even though, yes, I went for more vibrancy, I still like yours too, nice and subtle

For some reason -
this is a hard target to get any sharpness in the nebula.
Your photo is quite good in that you've got that long "mountain ridge"
showing up.
