Hi guys, Last night I went to Pauls again and finally captured some data!

This is my first quick attempt at processing it, there are some registration issues and something I have to clean up with the red frames (green blotch in the bottom).

It is 180 50 50 60

Thanks for looking

Very nicely done.

HLVG free plug in for Photoshop is a good way to get rid of excess green in an image which often creeps in for some reason.

Greg.

Thanks Greg, the excess green is due to a weird thing that happens sometimes with my flats. If I calibrate my red frames one part of the image has misalignment in the stars (by a long way) so after I stack them there are multiples of the same star, If I dont use any flats there is no missalignment. So the excess green is due to there being some vignetting in the red that is uncorrected.

Looks like a very interesting and colourful field. Did you image this with your Nikon or a CCD?

Hi Peter, hahahehe, I like the first better! just the colour was a little richer in the first - but that is only a personal preference.

Really, you've done a nice job, with smooth result. I really like this challenging area, and you've done it well.

Steve

Looks pretty good Peter. I like the smoothness of the data. Still some green over the entire image and hence Greg's suggestion for HLVG.

Maybe work the green and red channels a little to get the stars more golden and perhaps ramp up the saturation a little.

Nice to see you sorting things out with the mount and gear too.

I had a go with HLVG as suggested, what a great piece of software thanks! I took others advice and made the new version more vibrant. I think while im still fairly new at processing there will be many submissions for each image I take. Its not a bad idea anyway to present the data in a few different ways to appeal to more.

I hope to add some HA to this in the coming weeks to see if it adds anything.

Thanks for all your comments, and here is a larger res link

Thanks everyone, I too think that this is my best thus far. Colour is way easier with more time I am finding so I am looking forward to collecting lots of data on a new target soon.

Very nice Peter. That last version brings up more of the wisps of blue that I really like at the edge of the red nebula bottom centre. Strangely enough I'd decided this was going to me my next target. Might still do it but with a wider field than this. you were lucky to get that clear night.
