I hate Newcastle

With a portable and complicated rig to setup, I hardly get out these days so I have to take what I get, being clear is all I can hope for (rare in itself!) but this is what the 7 timer predictions for my seeing looks like every night when it is clear!

Crap Seeing in Newcastle

Almost always large white circles....I am getting sick of it

Mike
ahh.. feel a bit better after that little vent....bring on Canberra skies

Yep that's the plan, my wife will be down there by the end of the month and I follow once our house is sold or rented out, we are looking to rent first and rurally ...so I hold out some hope yet for some higher res imaging with the AG12

When I was imaging from Kurri Kurri (some 30km inland from Newcastle) during 2009 and 20010 the seeing was definitely better, still often rather crap (compared to Canberra) but I actually did get some steady nights and this was reflected in the 7timer predictions too with dark blue circles showing sometimes, since moving my imaging location back to Newcastle city however, every night shows crap seeing both on 7timer (big white circles) and in reality. I have found 7 Timer quite accurate in this regard.

Hi Mike, You better stock up on some warm clothing it is very chilly down this way.

I hope you have a good move. I know moving is a pain in the ass. I speak from experience.

If you ever wanted to catch up or check out my obs give me a PM.

Good luck with the move Mike. I have often thought of you and your lack of images since getting the new fast scope. All the best.

Hey thanks for the well wishes boys, I will let everyone know when I arrive, love to catch up with my IIS friends who live in the Canberra region, I lived there between 1984 and 2007 so I am a returned soldier...so to speak

If I finally get myself an observatory, or even just have he in my own backyard... just watch Agi hit her straps

Mike
