Near enough to no difference on axis with the Televue just a little better off axis from memory; same result with the ES40mm/Panoptic 41 but a bigger gap in the off axis performance, with the Panoptic being better.
There was a popular review on CN which said a 24mm panoptic had worse transmission than the ES24mm 68 degree, but the panoptic was a few years old and likely didn't have the latest coatings. I couldn't see any difference in transmission. I looked at few different nebulae and compared the extent of faint nebulosity and visibility of the faintest stars, with direct and averted vision.
I like the easy cleaning afforded by the waterproofing - sit some isopropyl on the eyelens for 20 seconds, wash it off under the tap and wick away the last drop with tissue.
Overall Televue has a better quality product but it's hard to argue with the difference in cost.
One warning: if you get a faulty eyepiece you're up for over $100 in US return post to get it replaced.
