Corona Australis

This is 20x2 minute of each LRGB. 9MB

There seems to be a ribbon of dubious origin on the left side. It could be an internal reflection. Only a more direct image will tell.

Thanks Dave and JJJnettie.

I superimposed the image on a map with RegiStar to see what bright stars could be causing a reflection.

The ribbon may be real and seems to be both blue reflection nebula and dust.

I'll go through my images and see if it's turned up in mine. It wasn't in frame on my last go at this region.

I can't see a celestial sausage Bert. I've reprocessed the image in a couple of different ways and can't make anything pop out.

Bert, I can't see it in your other widefield of the area, I'm guessing it is a reflection from... ?

Good image Bert.

That arc is a reflection of some sort. I had some similar appear in my CDK17 where there had been none the previous times I had used it. Which was quite puzzling as the setup was the same.

I finally tracked it down to the black paint Planewave uses isn't that high quality and it flaked off on the edges of the knife edge baffles.

Touching up the paint, both sides, of these knife edges baffles reduced it greatly and perhaps eliminated it.

The perfect arc is the clue its coming from your scope.

Greg.
