Coz I'm a Rocketgirl..

Just a quick pic of my girls launching some rockets yesterday. They love rocketry and are currently working on a 3 stage monster.

There certainly was, but it is the widest open space we have.

They went a lot higher than our estimate too, the chute landed over 400 metres away.

Interestingly both launches landed within 5 metres of each other, with two different rocket designs.

My older girl did the maths on calculating the height reached as well which is a great exercise (and a good use of a butchered protractor). We forgot to time it to calculate the kph though.

What a great project to involve the kids with. My kids would love this especially my nearly 3yo boy. He has an obsession with "space wockets"

It can't be the sky because it is a grey colour

It is a lot of fun, and for younger kids there are a variety of cheap ready-to-fly rockets.

Just google ESTES or search for ESTES on ebay.

Can you buy those sorts of things and have them come from overseas? I'm surprised. You can't even get firecrackers in most states now.

Snazzy rocket - a big improvement on the old bicycle pump rockets I made as a kid. But looks like just as much fun. Good on you for encouraging them.
