Aaaahhh Network Router has died...

I've just spent the last 4 or so hours troubleshooting my puter... at first I thought it was a virus attack, then thought the satellite modem had failed... in the end I'm pretty confident its the router!

Bypassed it and everything is rock solid. Plugged it back in and can't even get to the admin page in the router... time for a new one. No network drives, wireless or network printer for me till the new one arrives.

Al.

Glad it wasn't the satellite modem that went west.

Have you seen the price of a replacement.

No I haven't Ric, but I have had my modem replaced once under warranty.

I put my name on the list for an upgrade to the NBN satellite yesterday. There's apparently some new gear involved in that too. Not sure how long it'll be till I get to the top of the list, but it should be worth it. I'll go from 3GB peak and 12 GB off peak to 20GB peak and 20GB off peak for $10 more a month!

Hi Al

The "ipstar" satellite modem is around $1200 to replace at the moment.

The NBN satellite sounds interesting, I'll have to check that out.

Cheers
