ASCOMPad with EQMOD for focuser control?

Does anyone manage to run ASCOMPad and EQMOD in perfect harmony? During the transit I wanted to do some visual work. After dusting off my eyepieces etc I was too lazy to find the manual control box for my Skywatcher focuser motor. Instead I configured some wireless gamepad buttons (D switches) for the focuser figuring I would run ASCOMPad over the top of the already running EQMOD controlling the mount.

I had a lot of trouble with what appeared to be conflicts. Focuser not responding, or mount stopped tracking. Even after deleting ASCOMPad settings for the mount so that it should have been focuser only things still seemed pretty hit and miss. Eventually I got focus and left well enough alone. Insufficient time to troubleshoot it properly during transit anyway.

Would appreciate hearing other peoples experiences if any. I have pipe dreams of doing the odd bit of visual work here and there through the Newt and don't want to be dis-connecting the focuser motor all the time.

Thanks Peter.
Must just be my gamepad button definitions then. Something to play with on an "engineering night".

Thanks for the offer Peter. Not too high a priority currently - I'll have a muddle but definitely compare notes if it continues to get the better of me!
