ETA Carina season over? - Ver2

Hello everyone,
I have been back and fixed up two of the comments you suggested:
  1. The OIII in the Gabriela Mistral nebula is now like it actually shows in the OIII frame
  2. The central part of the image is no longer blown out. In order to fix this, I had to completely redo the synthetic luminance, but it was extremely worthwhile, as it has revealed some great details.
I also extended the OIII much further into the image and added contrast the central features of the image.
So, RGB stars will come when this weather passes, and I did reintroduce the mottled green, but didnt like it.

The 'odd star' someone emailed me about is very intriguing. I looked at the raw (Ha) data and this star has a great halo around it. The halo is not present in either the OIII or SII. It is in the lower right of the image.

Well, enough blabber, hope you like this version better: I certainly do!
and thanks for the feedback - a better result has come of it.

cheers
Martin

The repro is better for sure Martin! Love the subtle pink hues visible near the center around the Keyhole. Beautiful!

ALMOST makes me want to do NB!

Cheers, Marcus

Very very nice Martin, incidentaly I am working on a rendition of ETA somehow very similar to this with data I collect over the last year and half, I still have to find the sweet spot in blending Ha, OIII and RGB due to the extremely high dinamic of Eta Carinae. I hope to have something done within the next two weeks..

Clear skies

Well thanks everyone.

Carl - this was taken on a Tak FS106N, SBIG STL11K, Astrodon 3nm Ha/OIII filters and 5nm SII.

3 hours each filter, 30 minute subs

Marco - looking forward to seeing your result.

cheers
Martin
