M 46 e NGC 2438

GSO 305 mm - Canon Rebel XT - 10 min - 20 frames - iso 800

Blue star in center of NGC 2438 is the white dwarf.

It's good to see the planetary at such a large image scale. The central star is supposed to be magnitude 17.7, so if that is it you've done well to capture it.

Yes, the central star is very very faint. I had to process hard to bring it out. The nebula itself is very faint !

The image is a crop from original DSS Autosave.tif converted to 8 bits jpeg.
Can you see the bluish white dwarf ? I do!
It would be wrong? The faint bluish point would be another star than a dwarf? Please let me know if I made a mistake.
