First Solar Success

Have finally managed an almost mediocre image of the sun. Paul Haese helped out with a few tips so thanks Paul.
Taken with DMK41 through my SMII 60 and processed in Registax.

More processing to go including colour!

Nice one Malcolm, not bad detail.
looks like a few of us are venturing into solar as also did my first today with the ED80 and my SLR. Not as good as yours but I was happy with what I got for a first.
It's going to be interesting to see what comes out over the next few weeks.
I look forward to seeing the colour version.

Thanks Ken
Trying imaging in the weather down here in SW Vic is frustrating to say the least. Even Monday which was a nice day, had clear skies all morning, dashed home at lunch, grabbed the kit and.....CLOUDS!.
Managed this image in a small break, by the time it was time to go back to work, not a cloud in the sky....

Anyway well done on getting an image at all. I have now posted a colour version in the solar system section if you want to have a look.

Malcolm
