Question tripod weight carrying capacity

HI All,

would anyone know how much weight the meade giant field tripod will safely carry working in the field (not the supper giant field tripod)?

if thats the one that came with the LX200... good lord heaps! they are a chunky piece of kit! Almost makes my 10" and EQ6 look small when mounted on top

Hi Brendan,
Yep, thats it. Looking to use it in the field with my gear thats coming, after doing some more sums, and reading what you said, i realised i had no problems with weight capacity. i will have about 80kg total sitting on it.

They are a very strong mount especially if you shorten the legs s bit. I would not like to put more than 200Kg on one. Mainly because I can't lift that much.
