For the RC helicopter boffins

I've noticed a few threads here on IIS where members are afflicted with other obsessions besides photography and astronomy.

RC helicopters seem a favourite with some members,(I am pleased to sit and watch),I was just looking around on the net and found these.

an RC helicopter with spy camera! what will they think of next, this would be good at summer BBQ's!

I look forward to see reports and images by our IIS members into RC heli's

Nice.

I just got one of these delivered from amazon.

The parrot AR Drone 2.0

Awesome fun. HD video cam integrated and uses iphone or pad to fly it. So easy to learn. Only had time to fly in the house so far but it's great.

I am currently building (amongst 20 other projects) a Tricopter to carry small cameras such as the HD HERO PRO range of cameras.

Chris,

You used to be able to get them in AUS directly and they were a LOT cheaper than overseas. I have one of the older ones, but I found that on any nice day, the glare from the iPhone/iPad screen makes flying it almost impossible. Hopefully they also increased the flight time a bit in the new ones. The old ones you were lucky to get 15 minutes.

I love watching from the side lines, our two boys have two small $50 ones for inside house use,its just amazing they hover so perfectly.I did get one of the boys a $100 single blade one-much harder to use outside, just on dusk, got some really good photos of it-and that's as close as I'll get them.Just amazing what's out there for hobbies.
