Mars May9 - fair seeing

took an image sequence of Mars while waiting for Saturn to gain some altitude. it turned out to be the only useful image from the night as the seeing fell in a heap again and none of the Saturn images was worth posting. The polar ice cap is now quite tiny and the planet itself is getting pretty small as well. thanks for looking. regards Ray

You’ve got some nice surface details and subtly toned regions on the disc there Ray. A nice piece of controlled processing gives this a natural look.

Cheers

Well done Ray, I have not imaged Mars since a week or so past opposition. I got the full rotation that I wanted and so I have other imaging targets to tend to at present. However, I am glad to see several of you guys taking care of the imaging of the planets.

thanks Dennis - difficult to decide when to stop processing, so appreciate the feedback.

thanks Paul. always something of interest going on - I haven't done any DSO imaging for a year now and was thinking of cranking up that system again, now that the jetstream has set in - and then there is Venus.

regards Ray
