Thanks John, the new sim looks the same physical size as the old sim.
The old one worked in the new phone, it is in there now, contacts visible,
can make calls, full functionality of the 4G phone.
The sim swap option sounds the best option , yeah , but if I lose it
overboard I'm up for the wait of another SIM...

Do you have a computer app to manage the old phone? You should be able to import the numbers to your address book. Then with the new phone's management app you should be able to export them into that phone and write them to the SIM.
If you can get an adapter for the micro-SIM and then drop the phone overboard, will you remember to back up the data first?

Andrew, yep I have the apps needed to manage contacts on both phones.
So my question I suppose is, will the old SIM work once the new SIM is activated...you said nope, so I guess I gotta go with John's
option above for using the old one as the emergency.
Thanks guys.
