Astro Panel

Some clever trousers has taken 7-timer data, and made it available as an Android app!

Very easy to read and understand, and you can add different locations.

Handy.

Do you have a link to it on Google Play?

I love the Astro Panel ap!

I've been using it for the last 6 months and I can't get over how accurate the cloud cover and dew forecasts are

Thanks Paula, that Chinese one is easy to follow but it does not have the full astro features that the original had.

Has it, I wonder why?

It shouldn't be hard to make up a scraping app, might have a look myself.

Funny you should say that, i was up on the Gold Coast last week, and with the intermittent rain that accompanied us. I planned our theme park adventures around the AstroPanel forecast because the BoM was 1) not that accurate 2) not the granular. Everyone had a great time without getting soaked by the rain (we got soaked by thrill rides instead).

Funny how a computer in China can better predict weather in Australia than the local weather men looking out the window.

Sky Harbinger

Hi guys, I spent the weekend (two weeks ago) coding up an iPhone (iOS5 or later only) app that grabs the 7Timer data and formats it into a simple set of graphs that I think are easy to understand. It's finally been approved for the iTunes store.

It's free and is called Sky Harbinger

http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/sky-h...524028630?mt=8

Hope it does the job for you and if there are any features people would like to add then just ask and I'll see what I can do.

Cheers,
Simon

That's excellent! I had been using AstroWeather which does similar grabbing of 7Timer data, but your app has many more features. Well done!

Thanks Troy, that's exactly what I was aiming for. I noticed the android version has a moon phase section, I might add that in if I get a few feature requests.

Good work Simon, thanks.

What about the ability to store a few favourite locations?
iPad version?

Moon phase data is on the to-do list.
User locations is on the to-do list.

I'll see about converting it to iPad as it uses the same basic graphics code as AltAzAlign which runs on both, all I did was strip out the iPad code.

Anything else that might be handy?

PS: Should I start this in a new thread?
