Something a bit larger the Rosette.

This is my first go at this nebula, wanted to get it before it sets too early. I've only an hour of data but I'm reasonably happy for a fist go.

It's a bugger of thing to process, there was lots of green fringing, lost quite a bit of star colour. Still it will give me something to play around with on those cloudy nights.

Telescope 8” f/4 astrograph on a HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Unmodded Canon 1100D at ISO 800.
12 x 300 sec subs ISO 800.
9 dark frames, 9 flat frames and 9 bias.
Stacked in DSS and post process in Phototshop.
Cheers,

Justin.

Another very good photo Justin.

I really like the way you have got that 8" on the HEQ5 performing. I wish I could get mine to perform even half as good.

Nice one Justin, that's a very good result
I still think your black is clipped a bit but it's still very good.
Good to see the coma corrector working well. Did you get it replaced or just adjusted the spacing? I'm guessing a slight tilt as in the bottom right?

Hi Alistair,

Thanks for that.

This time I clipped in black to help get rid of the green fringing in the original image.
The BINTEL coma corrector has been consigned to visual only. I'm currently using a baader coma corector, a kind donation from a IIS member.
Yes there is tilt in one corner, can't quite work it out one corner seems odd.

Any idea's?

Cheers,
Justin.
