Yesterday morning I had my first serious attempt at taking raindrop refraction images using my Tamron 90 macro lens. Here are the best of the images - still room for improvement, but I was fairly happy with how these turned out (especially given that I was supporting the flower with one hand, and holding and operating the camera with the other). Next time I'll use the tripod!
These are really great images. It's amazing to think of all the different laws of physics that are involved in nature creating such images.
Just a few that come to mind:
* refraction (creating the images of the flowers in the raindrop)
* electromagnetic spectrum (creating the colours)
* surface tension (holding the rain drop together)
* Gravity (water falling from clouds onto the flowers)
etc..
Stephen, that's a great start. Have wanted to try doing dew/water refractions for a while but never get around to it.
#2 and #4 pick of the bunch. Shame about the framing of #4 but fantastic nevertheless
