Thanks very much Ray, it has been pretty full on over the last few days for sure and congratulations on the stunner that you produced also.

Thanks very much Paul, the ripple is interesting, not so noticeable in the RGB as it is in the IR, be interesting to hear Leigh Fletcher's thoughts on it.

I'm guessing the clipping (mainly at the pole) is unavoidable perhaps in IR..? Love the ring details you are squeezing out on Saturn!

Thanks very much Asi and off course I appreciate your comment, I only know one person who I would just rather not deal with. Now that you have dabbled a bit with the DMK I reckon you would have an appreciation of the work that goes into capturing 3 channels of data. Regarding the colour, it seems to have changed a bit over the last couple of apparitions, depending on the tilt of the rings. To my mind the colours of Saturn should be creams and browns and the rings should be neutral, grey or white. At the moment I have been basing my final balance toward achieving whitish rings. As you have mentioned in another of your threads, the lighting makes a big difference when processing and I find I get different results if I do it in natural light with the blind on my computer room window open to having the blind shut and the room light on. With reasonable seeing I am starting with Mars at 9pm and going through to 3:30am local with Saturn, so much data. I always try to get it processed to post it the next evening before I start over again so my initial processing is pretty quick. For sure, all of my best data will be reprocessed as I get runs of crook weather.
Regarding the IR & the North pole, I think it is just how that region relates to 807nm IR, it does block a considerable amount of light. As you know, with good seeing everything just fall into place and much lighter applications of sharpening are the go to reveal fine detail in the rings & within the atmosphere.
