Pam and I have seen several crocs up here and heard them at night from our house.

I used to put crab pots in the saltwater creek at the rear of our place until one day when I was getting the pot out of the water I saw a couple of Ducks tucked up under the mangrove roots the neighbour used to have Ducks and suddenly they went missing I then knew where they went too.

Needless to say I gave up crabbing when I was getting a pot out of the creek one day wearing a pair of overalls and just a pair of shorts on underneath, now I am not the most agile person out there and this was after I had seen the ducks put away in Mr croc's larder but I was standing on a mangrove root over the water pulling in the pot and the root broke and I fell in over my head.

I am telling the truth I got out so fast that the shorts I had on under the overalls were completely dry to this day I am still not sure how I managed to move so fast and can't even remember getting out

I'm getting a comic-like mental image of someone rising vertically out of the water and running across the surface. It's amazing how fast a person can react when they need to. In hindsight it looks as though everything happened in slow motion.

One question though: you say your shorts were dry, but were they clean??

They sure are shifty reptiles ,I went and had a look at that one at currumbin some years back @ 5 .4 metres or something while no one was around , Like I was along way back from his enclosure and it was getting towards dark but as I wallked around he ever so slowly just followed my movement , I thought I was dreaming as I couldn't see him move an inch but as I walked he kept his body sort of facing me .

That's quite freaky.

I wouldn't like to have one having a go at me especially as I ride a motorbike.
