Fastar System and Celestron C8

CELESTRON C8 WITH FASTAR SYSTEM
I would like to swap my Celestron C8 and Celestron Fastar System for a Meade 10 inch OTA or with a mount; I don’t care if the mount is not working as I will be removing the OTA from it. I would prefer one with UHTC coatings but a Classic Meade will do, but not the newer ACF model.
Reason for the swap: I have purchased a Meade 10 inch Fastar-Hyperstar System and need a 10” OTA.

PRICE $1100

TELESCOPE
Celestron C8 OTA Fastar Compatible with Starbright Coatings fitted with a full length Vixen style dovetail mounting plate and Red Dot finder scope.
ACCESSORIES
Celestron Fastar f1.95 Corrector with counterweight and secondary mirror protective housing.
Kendrick Kwik Focus mask.
Two covers one for when the Fastar is fitted.
Meade Diagonal
Celestron Skylight Filter Dust Seal
Extension Tube

What cameras is the fastar compatible with?

I take it that it is the old original fastar and not the Hyperstar?

There are a number of cameras compatible with the Fastar, Atik have just released a new 5 megapixel camera to suit the Fastar and Hyperstar systems, its the Atik 450, they also make the 420 and the 428EX all are available in colour and B/W versions. Starlight express also make compatible cameras. there are others, you will need to do some research to find what suits you. .
Yes its the original Celestron Fastar, the Hyperstar is basically the same with a name change when Celestron sold it off.

Hi Hugh,

Do you need a special adapter for each camera or is it just a T-thread for mounting?
