Horrendous weather Sunshine Coast

Watching images on the News, with terrible flash flooding down SEQ - roads with a lot of water already, kids being rescued from Day Care, school kids hovering atop bus stop benches, cars floating away from car parks.

Hope everyone is safe down there.

Yep, QLD is copping it fair share at the moment. Many are still getting back on their feet after last years floods. I think it is fair to say that we are all looking forward to the end of the wet season.

Hope all will be OK down ther Stu.

This system has been travelling for 10 days, starting up at Darwin ... never amounted to the Cyclone Mitchell that was predicted but inflicting huge rainfalls and damage over many 1000s of KM.

Time for it to head out to sea and ..... dieeeeee.

No problems at the local level. Northern QLD'ers are a tough lot though, the hits just keep on coming.

LOL, I ride a motorbike and getting home last night through this (32klms) was a lot of fun to say the least, visibility down to about 2 car lengths, made it home though, dry too, gotta give credit to "dry rider" gear, it works.

Cheers, Dennis.

my partner Jodie, sister of the late Scott Mellish, was trapped in a flash flood in Kawana on the way home from work...she abandoned her car amongst many others and made it to safety...I headed off on foot in torrential rain for a long walk to find her and caught her coming out of the darkness on foot. This flood was scary for many people and some have had their houses flooded. Today there is no sign of the water though the river is still very full.

here is a video taken on the same road, Nicklin Way, where she was stranded.

and another taken outside her work in the Kawana Shopping Centre
