Has anyone here purchased from this site? Wife and I are looking at a new eyepiece and camera lens and they seem to have the best deals.

Cheers
Wade

B & H have been around for eons and their low prices are a result of volume buying. I've been told, tho' can't confirm, that they are the largest single purchaser / reseller of photographic gear in the world!
A photojourno friend in the UK makes a yearly trek to New York just to stock-up on goodies there.

At any rate, they are a great company to deal with and I've had only one
problem in about 30 purchases - a very soft lens. They replaced it without fuss.

The only thing you have to bear in mind is that while B&H will honour any guarantee on goods they sell, you will be responsible for return post if the item is faulty, so I'd keep my purchases to fairly simple items with few moving parts and minimal electronics.
For the most part, US warranties/guarantees will not be hounored here if the item was purchased over the internet. However most established companies like Canon and Nikon will repair goods under warranty IF they were purchased abroad in person.
Also the usual customs caveats apply.

But IMO, you're pretty safe buying from B & H.

I buy all my paper/inks and other accessories from there.

They have 1,700 staff in just the one building. It's mind-boggling.

Excellent service, and, very, very fast!

Thumbs up for B&H from me too. Probably well into the 5 figures of spending there. I love the place.

There is a shipping calculator on their site for each item...just below the price.."calculate shipping". Shipping varies from $31 (AUD) to $100.

Just ensure you select Australian currency (down the bottom of their page) and where you want to ship it (from the shipping calculator menu).

I popped in to B&H in New York last year. Fantastic store, has a little section dedicated to astronomy (when I say little it was still as big as Bintels camberwell store) at 2 floors of camera stuff and video stuff. Service was excellent, lots of staff everywhere. The only comment I would make was that I priced a couple of astro things and they would have been just as cheap at Bintel with the exchange rates as they are.
But the prices for cameras and lenses were pretty good.
