Latest Setup

Finally got around to taking some photos of the new setup including the G11 and mini Borg guider. Although I haven't had many good nights to use this I'm happy with how it is performing.

Awesome. That mount looks like a monster compared to the EQ6.

I think it's the tripod that makes it look beefy. The head isn't that much bigger than the eq6 although the ring gears are clearly larger diameter and the counterweight shaft is quite a lot more substantial.

Looking good for sure Peter. A very tight rig indeed. The G11 makes that 10" look a lot smaller.

Shame it didn't make it seem lighter - getting sick of dragging it all out only to get clouded out!

Just needs a nice Sirius dome to got with it. I've been using the tactic where the astro stuff gradually takes up all the space in the house however I haven't achieved critical mass yet.

Might have to buy another OTA

you could always use the one that if i had the dome i can spend more time with the family - less setting up and pulling down and it would make me even more happier - though they will see right through that one. why not try the direct approach - hey i just ordered a dome

however i have filled the dome, the office and the worksop with gear as long as its not in the house she doesnt mind - much

Peter, just tell Jane that the dome is a "different" type of pool cover that you found and want to try out.

I was working on 2.5m but I think you are on to something Allan - 4m diameter is the way to go!

Can you drop in here after astrofest and explain it to SWMBO please Dave? You seem to have magic "mushroom" powers.
