Traffic Proper-Gander

Just drove Sydney-Melbourne-Sydney...but had to chuckle at one of the VicRoads " your end-is nigh if you go faster that the speed we placard as safe " signs on the Hume.

It read: "Slowing down won't kill you"

Actually, that's *exactly* -with extreme deceleration- what does kill you.

I'll go one better, Peter. On Athlon Drive, here, in Canberra, there's a sign that just says, "PEOPLE DIE ON ACT ROADS". LOL!

I like Texas Freeway signs that say "Drive Friendly".

They also have minimum speed limits on Freeways.

Greg.

There are signs in Tasmania that say "It's a limit not a challange".

Humm, looking at the traffic/road/hazards rather than speedo sounds like a better challenge to me

Clearly, nowhere else to pass (on).... sorry a bit crass.

There have been some awful crashes (mainly involving trucks...on the wrong "adjective-needed-here-starting-with-f " side of the road) in NSW very recently.

Sadly, a bureaucraticlly imposed speed sign wasn't even close to addressing the tragedies that resulted....
