Reprocessed Jupiter Oct 2010

I was admiring an image shown on Google+ recently and found the stacking software was the person primary reason for making such a brilliant image - https://plus.google.com/photos/11786...78172610140274

I decided to use the same software although there wasn't a significant difference, AutoStakkert I found later had an edge of AVIStack. 1 - soooo easy to use, 2 - stacked very nicely and quickly.
The image was taken from a webcam ages ago, the original image - http://mswhin63.waelect.com.au/Jupit..._03%20Seq2.png

The repo though was slightly better and was able to increase the size slightly more without losing too much quality. As I was using a colour webcam I had to split the RGB then processed each colour then recombined them in GIMP to finish off. I also implemented a new technique (for myself at least) by aligning the moon Io then re-inserting correctly into the processed Jupiter. Only after making sure the reproduction was accurate I removed the offending Jupiter and moons from the bad layers. All a bit much to explain but I intend to have a go on some of my DSLR image soon to see they can be improved.

One other software from the same place is Castrator which is similar to Ninox in centring the planet in the middle of the image. This made it easier to align each colour again. I still feel Ninox is better but to difficult to use for me at least.
