what are these mods???

Hi,
I have seen alot of you mention modded canon dslr's..I have recently got hold of a 10d..can anyone tell me what these mods are, and can the canon 10d be modded??is it just a noise reduction thing??

It involves the removal of the IR filter on the CCD/CMOS imaging chip, and replacement with one that allows imaging of either the full visible and IR spectrum or at least the visible and H-alpha wavelength (important for some nebulae).
