Centaurus A

Centaurus A with the QHY9.
45 Min RGB and 45 Min L
I think i had a bit of focus shift so the picture looks a bit soft and i have to redo it tonight and more luminance.

Looks good to me but maybe it's not the right time yet?
This target doesn't reach it's highest point until about dawn.

Trevor the full res picture is a bit noisy ( a smaller picture looks better because it is harder to see the noise ).
Will post a full example when i get some more done tonight.

Thank you

I start imaging Centaurus A when it is at about 45 Degrees up so i get about 9 LRGB shots each before it is too light.

Thanks,
I've been posting for years on Cloudy Nights with the same name.
I think I'll wait till March before I image Centaurus A again
& of course M83 - the Southern Pinwheel.
I never had much luck with targets low in the sky.

Maybe a bit soft, but very nice image with a lot of detail and a generous image scale. What was the scope?

Martin, lots of good things about the image. Stars look good for shape so focus is most likely the issue. You can do some selective sharpening which might help.

The colour is ok but there does not appear to be any blue in the blue stars. Also your image looks a little to warm (ie orange cast), maybe back off the green just a little and add some blue to the back ground tones.

Better luminence will work on giving you sharper detail.

Yep, that is the key, focus, focus, focus without it you are hamstrung.

A lot of potential in this image for sure

If you get some good sharp Lum take this image, do the things Paul suggested, then blur it, increase saturation and use it as the RGB

Thank you Mike for the suggestions and the tip (didn't think about using this as a RGB)
