Gemini.net alignment point question

Hi all,

I've recently acquired a G11 and I'm in the process of getting my software to play nicely with it. Having been spoiled with EQMOD for the last few years I'm keen to drive the scope from the PC as much as possible and avoid the Gemini hand controller. I have been using Astroplanner to drive the EQ6 via ascom and hope to do the same with the G11 substituting gemini.net for EQASCOM.

The question I have is about the way alignment stars are added to the model. I use astroplanner to slew to a star and click the astroplanner sync button and nothing seems to happen. If I slew to another star and click additional align from the virtual hand box function menu I get an audible message saying A:0.0 E:0.0.

Can someone help me understand what's going on here?
