Some lightning from last night

Last night I saw some lightning further out west over the blue mountain so I set the camera with the lightning trigger. It is utterly useless with the IR remote control on the NEX-5. By the time the shutter triggers the show's over. I suspect it might work better with a direct cable connection on the Pentax *istD. Will try next.

So instead I set the intervalometer to 10s exposures. ISO 400 and caught some (6 subs out of 70). I stacked them in PS to make a pretty picture. The planet setting down is Venus I believe.

I have a better quality shot here.

You would be impressed up here at the moment Leon , we had a storm yesterday morning the lasted aboout 3 hours and 1625 lightning strikes were counted at Darwin airport , awsome ! . . it was a continous roll and flash .
Brian.
