GSO RC6 for imaging?

Has anyone had any experience using the GSO RC6 for imaging? They seem to be an amazing price for 6" aperture. I'm still reluctant to cut my 10" newt and the money I need to spend on firming up the dovetail might be better put straight into something like the RC6.

I welcome any thoughts.

Thanks,
Bruce

Hi Bruce

If your 10in Newt works well for imaging (after your mods) you may consider staying with it. If you go down to 6in you will only have about 1/3 of the light gathering capacity of your 10in. If you must change you may consider stretching a bit to get an 8 in RC. I have one and I am very happy with
the quality of the images. However, I do have a problem with unwanted reflections when I have a bright star in the field eg when I am imaging
the Flame nebula with the bright star Alnitak in the frame.

Cheers Peter
