Return to Fingal Heads

Andrew and I were chasing Comet Lovejoy down at Fingal and decided to hang around for sunrise.

I did have a minor disagreement with a wave over my location - ie my camera and I got drenched. Thought I'd cleaned the lens in the dark, but there was some flare in this image from some droplets that I didn't get. Did my best at processing it out. If you look closely, there's also a bonus ghostly fisherman somewhere in there.

Just added a second image, subtly different. Didn't attempt to process the flares in this one, and the fisherman is just a little more evident.

Thanks mate. It's a great spot there. I kind of butchered a great opportunity that morning. Bit gun shy from the earlier wave.

Used some new techniques in the processing of these, quite happy wi the results there. Wrote some luminosity mask actions etc. very cool and powerful. You use them?

Nice ones Troy, I love that location, and you got some great light for it that morning too.

Cheers guys. Trying to make the most of the holidays, getting out early, shoot sunrise, back home still early enough for fully day with family. Might as well, not much astro going on at night with all these clouds!
