Jupiter 17th December 2011

Hi everyone, just a quick post of Jupiter from last night in reasonable seeing from Brisbane. Canon EOS 600D, 5x Powermate, 12" Sky-Watcher Goto Dobsonian manually tracked.

Thanks for looking,

Tom

Hi Tom,

great result! You used a Canon, wow. Most people are using Webcams or DMK and so on. Never seen such an awesome Jupiter done with a Canon.

Cheers

Werner

A mighty fine result Tom, is the a single frame or a stack of how many ? I have the 600D and love the detail it captures, havent tried planetary with it though, yet ?

That's a beauty, Tom. Looks like you're getting to grips with the processing. The reduced size is really helping.

Very well done Tom, a really nice result. Agree with Mike, the reduced image scale really helps the final result.

A top effort.
Regards
Trevor

Thanks for your comments. Bob the image is a stack of about 1000 frames with the 600D video crop mode.

It kills me to downsize the image, even when it does look better that way!
