Help setting up Meade ETX125!!

Hi all.

Been bad weather in Mackay - cloudy etc from the strong SE hitting Qld at the moment.

Having a balls of a problem trying to align two stars up with the Autostar program. I use Starry Night Pro to help me and I beigve I hit the right stars yet the Autostar claims there is an incorrect alignment.

Is the Autostar need some settings altered? My concern is even though I have it programmed for Brisbane (this being the nearest city), I am 1000klms north. If I obtain the GPS settings for Mackay, should I edit Brisbane to put this in to possibly help? Choose another star that sticks out like the proverbial?

Hi chrissara,

You should be able to add a city, rather than have to modify an existing one. And yes, I think I would do that for Mackay (Latitude: 21deg07'S Longitude: 149deg14'E), rather than use Brissy. If it doesn't work, let us know.

Brian.

Hi Chrissara, Brian is spot on, you can also look in the Astronomy 2006 book it gives the Lat and long for Mackay.
I have my Lx 90 user location set to Latitude: 21 08 longitude: 149 10.
