Jupiter/Callisto Dec11 average seeing

In a jetstream hole, but local turbulence was pretty bad, which messed up green and blue - hence a hint of detail in an otherwise soft and noisy image. Callisto stacked OK though - haven't imaged it before . Thanks for looking. Regards Ray

Remarkable detail Ray on both Jupiter and Ganymede. Thanks for the view. All the best.

thanks very much Lester. Just went back and checked - what I assumed was Ganymede, was actually Callisto (no wonder it looks splotchy). Have edited the post, but maybe I should check before posting in future - sorry about that. Regards Ray

Nice one Ray I was out as well for the earlier Io and shadow transit but the seeing was awful but managed Callisto as well

Nice work Ray, with the way conditions have been for the last 6 months I reckon it's all about making the most of any opportunity that arises and I think you have done very well with this one.

Well done
Regards
Trevor
