Eruptive Prominence

Hello all,

Managed to snap this faint prominence this morning. I know the image is not a patch on the mono ccd images I have been seeing lately but I'm still pretty happy with this from a DSLR.

Cheers

Greg

Thank you so much everyone I'm glad you all like it. Got a great day here today so I'll be doing a bit more solar imaging/observing before I have to go to tennis this afternoon.

Thank you very much Al. Im glad you like it.

Out of curiosity. What would be the correct term for this? I have had a few people asking if this is a solar flare but I'm really not sure. I thought it was an erupted prom. Pardon my ignorance on solar anatomy. I'm trying to learn about what I image.
