Good seeing in Adelaide NOW -- Jupiter

If you are in Adelaide, now would be a good time to have a look at Jupiter.

Here's what my C6 and DMK21AU04 captured just now. Sorry, mono only.

Cheers Ray.

I know I will probably regret it, but I'm just too tired to set up the C11 and filter wheel now.

That's the nice thing about the C6SE -- just plonk it out on the lawn any old how and start looking/recording within minutes. The scope had only cooled down for about 1/2 hour before this.

Great image mate. Alas my neq6pro is giving me the hell so I'm going to have to leave Jupiter till after Christmas.

Checked but the seeing degraded by the time I got the mirror cold and ready. Will be going to bed shortly. Thanks for the heads up though.

Good stuff Ivan, plenty of detail there, very nice effort for a 6" aperture.

Regards

Pretty good seeing at the moment. The wind is the problem though (down Noarlunga way anyway)

Hmm, very interesting Dan. I've just come in after packing up because the seeing was terrible here.

Here's a rough process of what I got through the C11. Pretty smeared out, and I couldn't even use a barlow.

True, I'm on SN2011iv, and getting FWHM of 2.6 px, which is pretty good. Usual is around 4.5, bad seeing is around 9!

Yeah, clouds.

I've just packed up. Got about an hour of data, and I want to process before work tomorrow.

Good luck for the rest of the night. The seeing really was good.
