Moon and Venus 27/11/2011

Saw the crescent Moon and Venus in the sky yesterday evening so I thought I would have a go at shooting it with my old 300mm f4.5 Tair-3S. The separation to Venus was just a bit too much to get them both in the field, so here is a couple of panes, total image cropped to get rid of the misalignment. ISO 1600, 1/4 second each, modded Canon 450D.

Hi Tony,

Lovely shot. I like the way you've captured the Earthshine as well.

regards,

Thanks Mike and Richard.

Just need to take some flatfields to get rid of the vignetting, then it will be quite a reasonable shot.

how did you mount your Tair 3s? tripod? hand held? because that lens is massively heavy. also where did you get your M42 to Canon mount because i need one to attach it to my canon 350D
