Telescope Clearance Sale

I have been a long term customer of Extravision and I was talking to their MD yesterday and he advised that they have some great Celestron items that they are clearing out. I ask him to send me a list via email and I thought that I would share this news with IIS members. There are some great prices there.

It's probably not appropriate to show the list here, as I am not sure if IIS allows this, but if you are looking for a bargain I would contact them. They have a couple of 11" Celestron goto for less than $3,500

I have a copy of the list if anyone wants it. Just pm your email.

Cheers

Peter that must be the same list that Ken has at the astro camp at the moment, he informed us of the great specials available yesterday if i recall.

Seems like some bargains to be had for sure.

Thanks Leon,

At least those that weren't at the astro camp will know about it. I only found out about when I rang them about some other info.

Cheers

Hi Brian, yes mate unfortunately we promised the kids that we would be back for the Christmas season, so here we are in Ballarat again.

I have to wonder why actually it is bloody cold and raining at present, it is only 12 degrees, and as you know we have been used to the low to mid 30's only a week ago, man what a shock to the system.

Yea Brian, C11 would be very nice. I am thinking about it overnight. The price quoted is less that I paid for my C8 that I bought off them about five years ago.

I know the list may have been distributed around the astro camp, but there are people here who knew nothing about it, that is why I put it on here.

Cheers mate!

I had a look at the sale list and noted that they appear to be “Scratch & Dent” sales, with classifications A through C, so be sure to check what you are getting if you buy a unit. Cosmetic damage usually isn’t a problem.

Cheers

I know Brian, I can't believe some of the prices, although I realise that this is just clearance of stock. I am thinkin' real hard about the 11". Just gotta find the readies.

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade though!! Just remember that Extravision was removed as the official sole distributor of Celestron for almost 18 months now and these might be their last stocks since then!!

Yes Bill, that is correct, but my understand is that a clearance sale means just that. And there are some damn good prices there. I am still trying to figure out if I can find the money to get the 11".

As for Extravision being removed as the Celestron dealer, my understanding is a little different. I believe it is a more complex than that, as these things usually are.

The price of $2,400 is a good price for the 9.25, as I noticed from another dealer that the mount alone is near $1,700.

Yep I agree totally - it's damned good prices for the products if the right model you're looking for is in the list! That's why I said I didn't want to rain on anyone's parade!!

Cant' understand why Celestron decided to end Extravision as a distributor especially when they had the know so because I had used them to sort out a rather complex issue and they came good with it!

Good luck to all

Cheers
Bill
