Losmandy Gemini 2 electronic box

I've just received a losmandy gemini 2 mount. The online instructions say there is a north south switch to flick in the elecronic box just to the right of the on off switch when you remove the cover. I can't find it - can anyone help?

Hi Danny,

Congrates on the new mount. I picked one up last wednesday.

I couldn't find the switch either but had no problems with the directions but then I have only had it out once for a little look at jupitor before the clouds put an end to that.

So far the only thing I found lacking was the lack of documention. I think the online instructions are for a previous version.

PS to IIS.

Apparently the full Gemini 2 documentation is a 'work in progress', there is only the quick-start guide.

Also there is no N/S switch its automatic based on your location setting.

Mine is in the air as I type... Can't wait to play with it. Opinions on the new hand controller would be interesting. I found the old version a cow to read.

Congrates on the new mount. I find the hand controller easy to read and having the buttons on the back I find handy too.

As for documentation, have you tried this site http://www.gemini-2.com/. Tom has written some good how-to's with pics and all and adds more doco's as features are released.

Thanks, I bought a retrofit and it arrived yesterday. Installation was pretty straighfoward and I like the HC a whole lot more. Easier to read and more intuitive. I've been fiddling a bit and it seems to work well enough but I had a couple of lock-ups during manual slews. I suspect I was moving to quickly from and East to West slew and the lock-up resolved after waiting a second or two.

Lack of documentation is a worry but Gemini-2.com is a good resource, as is the Yahoo group. Give it a month or so and I'll be a lot more comfortable.

Starting to play with the integration side of it now. I have to interface with The Sky X and Maxim DL., (bought the P.C. cable at the same time). New to all the ASCOM side of it all but I seem to be resolving issues easy enough.... so far.. I need a dome!
